Formation of a safety and health committee and its training is a statutory requirement of all workplaces employing twenty and more persons on a regular basis in line with requirements of Legal Notice No. 31 (Health and Safety Committee Rules) and Section 9 of the OSHA, 2007.
Training staff in occupational safety and health is expected to greatly assist in developing their capacity (i.e. improving on their technical skills and knowledge) which goes a long way towards inculcating a higher sense of organizational safety and health awareness. The training will also engender the culture whereby all staff through the trained safety and health committees will take personal responsibility for safety in all that they do.
This isworkplace requirement under OSHA 2007 and the Factories First aid rules, 1977. The training provides competent first-aid skills which enables first aid team to handle workplace emergencies in order to preserve life, prevent conditions from worsening as well as promoting recovery of casualties before being referred for further medical treatment.
Fire safety brings the difference between life and death and also the difference between safetyof property and loss. This training equips selected employees with the required techniques on fire prevention and fire protection.
The workplace fire safety training is a legal requirement as per the OSHA2007 and Fire risk reduction rules of 2007.

Safe use of chemicals training is essential to ensure that individuals in the workplace handle hazardous substances appropriately, minimizing the risk of accidents, injuries, and exposure to harmful chemicals.
Confined space training is essential for individuals who may be required to work in or around confined spaces as part of their job responsibilities. Confined spaces are areas that are not designed for continuous occupancy and may have limited entry and exit points. These spaces can pose various risks, including poor air quality, limited visibility, and the potential for hazardous materials.
Work at height training is crucial for individuals whose job responsibilities involve working at elevated locations, such as on scaffolding, ladders, roofs, or other elevated structures. Working at height introduces various risks, including falls, and it requires specific knowledge and skills to ensure the safety of workers.
Lockout/tagout (LOTO) training is critical for workers who are involved in maintenance and servicing activities of machines and equipment. The purpose of lockout/tagout is to prevent the unexpected startup or release of hazardous energy during maintenance or repair work.
